Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell started off as unlikely allies in "The Other Guys." But that shaky partnership has blossomed into something beautiful. Hilariously beautiful, but beautiful all the same.

Deadline reports that the two actors are joining forces for "Turkey Bowl," a new comedy about two guys from rival football-obsessed towns who lead their teams in an annual tackle football game for bragging rights. Lots of star-studded cameos are expected. Sounds perfect, if for no other reason than the news gives us an excuse to repost our Ferrell/Wahlberg "Knife Show" video.

Check out the rest of today's big casting news after the jump, including Michelle Williams' potential trip to "Oz" and the latest developments on "Akira."

Michelle is a Good Witch
Oscar-nominated "Blue Valentine" actress Michelle Williams is following the yellow brick road towards Sam Raimi's "Oz, The Great and Powerful." Heat Vision reports that Williams has been offered the role of Glinda the Good Witch, potentially casting her alongside James Franco, Mila Kunis and Rachel Weisz.

"Gatsby" Gets Edgy
The search for Tom Buchanan is over. Deadline reports that Joel Edgerton has beaten out Luke Evans in the pursuit of a role in "The Great Gatsby," joining an all-star cast that already includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Carrey Mulligan. Ben Affleck was previously set for the part.

Reeves Shuts Down "Akira"
"Akira" purists weren't thrilled by the prospect of Keanu Reeves starring as Kaneda in the live-action adaptation of the beloved manga and anime property, but it turns out he won't be headed to Neo Tokyo after all. JoBlo says that Reeves has turned down the project; Warner Bros. remains on the lookout for a new leading man.

Headed for "Rapturepalooza"
Thomas Lennon, Rob Huebel and Rob Corddry are headed for the apocalypse. According to Variety, the trio of comedians are joining the cast of "Rapturepalooza," a movie about two teens (John Francis Daley and Anna Kendrick) who team together to defeat the world-ending Antichrist, played by "The Office" and "Hot Tub Time Machine" actor Craig Robinson.

More "End of the World" Casting
Speaking of the end of the world, looks like destruction has reached our favorite "Community." Gillian Jacobs, who appears on the fantastically hilarious NBC sitcom, has been tapped to join Steve Carell and Keira Knightley in the post-apocalyptic road trip dramedy "Seeking a Friend for the End of the World," reports THR.
